On Saturday 14 August, we quietly opened the doors to something we’ve been dreaming about for a long time: the physical home of Beautiful World Interiors.
Tucked away at 1 Impasse de la Châtaigneraie, Valdelaume, Deux-Sèvres, 79110, we welcomed around 40 wonderful customers for a little sneak peek of what we’ve been creating — neighbours, friends and people who had travelled a little further to come and see what we were up to.
And what a day it was...
There was a free bellini bar, a mojito bar, two of our rather unusual drinks boats — vintage canoes transformed into self-serve bars — charcuterie boxes, vintage games and, of course, a fully stocked ice cream bike. And then there was the Brocante.
Our first visitors wandered, browsed and discovered pieces including enamel wall-mounted kitchen utensil holders, planters, ceramic houses, chopping boards and plenty of other treasures. As always with Beautiful World Interiors, the collection was deliberately eclectic — objects with character, history and a purpose in modern life, rather than things made simply to fill a space.
Beautiful World Interiors began with a love of finding those special pieces that you don’t see everywhere. We carefully source vintage and antique interiors from France and across Europe, alongside sustainable modern homewares, local and regional artisan products and our collection of vintage and rustic pieces for events and photoshoots. But opening a shop was never intended to be simply about selling beautiful things. We want to help bring a little more life, creativity and commerce to rural communities, supporting small local businesses and giving artisans a place to share what they make. That ambition is already part of the heart of Beautiful World Interiors, with plans to work with local makers and introduce their creations into the shop.
The response on our opening day made us feel that perhaps we’re onto something.
There was a lovely sense of curiosity, conversation and community — people discovering the space, finding something they loved, enjoying a drink and, most importantly, spending time together.
So, after our little sneak peek, we’re now entering a trial period and opening the shop three days a week.

We’re still very much at the beginning of this journey, and there are plenty more ideas, plans and surprises to come.
For now, though, we’re simply delighted to have finally opened the doors.
